I am a retired high school science teacher. For 34years I experienced how much our education systems are used to continue to deliberately segregate students using legal funding structures that limit the quality of education available to poor students of color as well as white students from poor families. The gatekeeping is built in at all levels - from pre-k to apprenticeship programs and other post secondary opportunities for gaining knowledge and skills. Brown vs. Board of Ed. is still being fought in school districts and other educational programs across the USA in 2025. The architects of Project 2025 are just the latest version of segregationists that want to destroy the equal rights of people to access a quality education so that they can pursue life, liberty and happiness.

White supremacy is a disease as old as America itself. All schools should be teaching and supporting the science that proves "races" do not exist within the total population of the human species. For biological reasons proximity to sunshine and potable water determined melanin levels for local populations over a period of centuries. But hatred is altogether different. Insecurity and doubt make people need to feel superior in order to soothe or at least quiet the internal conflict. Dr. King said, "Hate cannot drive out hate. Only love can do that."

That’s for sure. I graduated from Harry S Truman High School in Independence, MO in 1970. During the three years I was there, the only Black person in the place was Victor, one year’s AFS exchange student from Nigeria. It was endlessly amusing watching kids who wouldn’t give local Black folks the time of day sucking up to Victor. He was a good kid, and it certainly wasn’t his fault he was sent to Bigot Academy.
Why? Because people are stupid. Because they inherit bigotry like eye color. Because it Benefits Someone to see the world maintained as a Hierarchy in which they, of course, place themselves at the very top.
We humans have the same brains we had when we hopped down from the trees and started moving around the globe. People are stubborn and pathetic and like to have labels and categories, for its Human Strata Social System. "Meritocracy" BS! Bigots live in a state of perpetually tended terror of being compared to others and being found wanting. Best solution, spread lies, insist people who look, think, or live differently from you are inferior. Form a group of like-un-minded others, spread lies and propaganda, deny when confronted with your ignorance, hypocrisy and bias. Live your whole life with your head up your ass and blame other people for the bad smell.

Agree. The only race is the Human Race, the rest is just culture and location.
And now we face a continuation of this history with the move against the Dept of Education.
