I think a lot of those who dismissed racism and bigotry, the cries of brutality by police thought the issues were exaggerated, saw it raw and real then and the systemic racism and bigotry being perpetrated now out in the open by this thug administration has shocked a lot of people who were living too comfortably in their purposeful blindness. Many more see it for what it is now; REAL. And the damage it has done people and the country as a whole. It's in no way enough but over time more people will stand against it. It's too bad it takes death and destruction (or extra judicial kidnapping) for people to see reality at all.

Well written and my answer to your question at the end: No.

The "outcry" was a temporary passing, something to do to be seen as part of a group. Same as the 60s, 70s and least we forget the 50s.

Surprised? No. 😒

George Floyds Death Did Change America. The blow back we see is from those who are Resistant To That Change. Those people will never go away, change their minds, be tempered by facts, cruelty or obvious bias against others. They only see harm done to themselves or people like themselves. There are a lot of them in Power. They are working Day and Night to Spin Racism in America until it is no such thing, no such other thing or a thing so untenable as to be laughably ludicrous. You know, like Black People Having Enough Power To Systematically Discriminate Against Non-Black People In Every Section Of American Life.

Somewhere, someone believes that. And those who know it isn't true, but who still hope to skew the agenda are finding many acceptable situations and welcoming minds for the scam. But there are plenty more minds that saw that Black Man with his face ground into the pavement as an arrogant white police officer, who knew he could do whatever he wanted in the situation and get away with it, saw that officer's look of utter contempt for their beseeching pleas to "Let The Man Breathe", and realized they had to call him out, call out the police department, the policing culture of white America or be counted as part of the problem, enablers of faux-justice murder.

We have a LONG WAY TO GO. But My God, imagine if there had not been marches. If the world had looked and looked away. No, not much has changed. A Black Man Died At The Hands Of The Police. Why all the sudden that was global news. That so many people were sickened, angered and determined to be heard means something changed.

Humanity can't live at a pitch of permanent explosive rage. Heartening thought that even as the powers that be, the powers that seek more and more control over every aspect of our lives were not able to shut that one off, says something. They probably won't make that mistake again. Don't get caught. Don't let any images get out. Save the hassle of over writing and obfuscating to just keep the people from knowing about anything. But they are not there yet. "WE" are US, and we decide the world we make in many ways. George Floyd's Murder was caught on tape, and the powerful and contrary to Liberty and Equal Justice Under The Law were put on Notice. A mob is an easy thing to whip up, but nearly impossible to shut down. Be a mob. Keep them honest. As honest as they can be, that is...

William, you forgot to mention that there's talk of giving Chauvin a pardon -- If Trump does it, I wouldn't be surprised if he did it on Juneteenth.
