She is the new poster girl for the popular idiom, "The only thing certain in this life is death and taxes!" Credited to American stateman Benjamin Franklin. "Our new constitution is now established, everything seems to promise it will be durable; but, in this world, nothing is certain except death and taxes." 🪦🇺🇸🤔

Ernst's statement, 'We're all going to die' really brings to the forefront of why several Christians voted for trump, in spite of the fact that he led an insurrection in order to overturn the 2020 election results, his 34 felony convictions, 30,574 + lies he has spoken in the first term and since then, and his cruelty and apathy.

I am a Christian, and I believe that Jesus will return to gather His children in the Rapture, and I am certain that they believe in Biblical prophecy also. Yet many of them voted for trump, in the hope that he will speed things up, resulting in major disasters and tragedies around the world, and that Jesus will return before things become even worse. Many Christians voted this way, not so much out of love for God and a desire to be with Him, but because they hate the world and the way things are going.

It is one thing to hate the things happening in the world: wars, diseases, hunger, crime, poverty; yet we need to ask ourselves this question: are we doing anything to change these situations?

This administration is clearly determined to make things worse for our nation, especially for immigrants, the poor, the elderly, children, the homeless, and others. Maybe that is why several Christians voted for trump and his MAGA lackeys.

I think the Senator’s words are kinda like Ebenezer Scrooge’s comments before he was visited by the three ghosts.

Of course we’re all going to die, but we’re not trying to rush it!!! Hope her constituents see what an insensitive person she is and vote her out. What an “A” hole.

"Joni, You Ignorant Slut."

You know, kudos for telling The Quiet Part, The Machiavellian Part, The Ayn Randian Calvinistic-Trickle-Down-Economic Part out loud. Honestly, they've been legislating it for decades, why not put their mouth where their money is.

We ARE All Gonna Die, just those least of us, the poor, the infirm, the aged, and assorted POCs, Homos, Fat Slobs Mental Defects and other drags on the economy need to shunted aside to die in warehouses while The Beautiful People; the wealthy, connected, celebrated and socially secure just get on with their lives.

This is the stuff of Life, here. The Haves Have and The Have Nots...Have Not. They Have Not Six-Figure-Incomes with Bonuses, Pension Plans, Secure Living Situations, High End Cars, Second Cars, Third Cars, Fancy Appliances, Homes and Furnishings. They have not Access to the Best Health Care On The Planet, the most endowed pro-active-life enhancing preventative means for improving quality of life, let alone time and money for vacations to Beauty Spots Around The Globe Where They Will Be Served Healthful Fruit and Booze Smoothies By The Have Nots of Another Nation.

And if you asked them, most people of a Conservative and Monied Set, will say, This Is Just The Way Things Are. Rich People Get Rich Things, The Best Of Everything And They Deserve Them Because They Work Hard and/or Please God.

By that equation, your average Church Going, Day to Day Slogging Char Woman Should Be Rolling In It! Instead, she's a thumb. A drudge, a drab, a drag on society and a blight on the scene.

Oh, and she's gonna die too. Just sooner and in truly Dickensian conditions. But so long as it's out of sight. All is Right with the World...

You know, these Conservative, Godly, Greedy People Can Just Fuck The Hell Right Off!

Tangential but in a way not, I have this memory that demands to be remarked on: Rush Limbaugh said “Everyone dies” [or will die or similar] on the radio some years before he did die. I think it was his defense against warnings about smoking. (I hope I’ve got that right.)

In any case, I wonder if that’s the origin of this comment, deep in Ernst’s brain, to pop back out when stuck to the wall with a question. Because we generally, but seemingly especially Repubs, have phrases or ideas stuck in our heads if they came from our “gods;” which then return to serve our present purpose. These phrases get enlarged and applied carte blanche. Those words comforted Rush then, and they comfort Joni now when she realizes deep down the real cost of gutting healthcare coverage.
