I agree with you. He is just looking for an excuse to bring out the guns and instill military control. The protests have been peaceful, so he hasn't been given the chance. The protest in LA were peaceful, but it scared the poor ICE agents, although no one was hurt. It's just an escalation so he can order Martial Law.

Let's not forget the Central Park 5. He wanted them executed by the State of New York.

"Adding fuel to the fire, weeks after the attack, in May 1989, real estate developer (and future U.S. president) Donald Trump took out full-page ads in The New York Times, the New York Daily News, the New York Post and New York Newsday with the headline, 'Bring Back The Death Penalty. Bring Back Our Police!'"

I think it's even worse than just wanting to shoot someone. I think he's looking to provoke something he can use to invoke martial law, like the infamous Reichstag fire in Germany, ending our democracy altogether at once. I hope I'm wrong.

Sadly, no, I would not be surprised. I’m actually preparing for the possibility that trumph will send some of his J6 people into the peaceful protests to start a riot so he can use violence against protesters. Sad, disgusting time for our country.

The US doesn't have a leader, and it shows. What I've been keeping an eye on the mercenaries he's renamed ICE.

Going back to his initial mouth slobbering, there were not enough officers at the border with Mexico, and he "hired" more to cover it. Ok, let's take a closer look here: Where did he hire them from? If the department of immigration staff (a federal agency) had a reduction in force, the people doing the work - Where did these untrained, gun toting, ICE people come from?

Doesn't it smell like a posse of mercenaries. Better question: How are they being paid and by who/whom?

Not the American people they are being sent to shoot. There's a puppet master and it sure isn't TacoStump.🤔

I'm sorry, but I predict that the shooting deaths of protesters is going to happen sooner than later. Some of those "ICE agents" look like out-of-shape good ol' boys who traded their fathers' and grandfathers' white sheets for khakis, masks and poorly fitted bulletproof vests. The use of unmarked vans and vehicles just reinforces the Gestapo-like techniques being used to intimidate and traumatize people in their communities. I honestly don't know if they are really trained federal immigration agents or pardoned J6 militia-wanna-bees hired through now nebulous processes after all the current regime's executive orders and DOGE cuts. As I watch the news videos, some of these "ICE agents" don't show official insignia on their clothes, their names, badge numbers or any identification proving that they are really agents. If they showed up and broke down my door I would think it's a home invasion, even though I have nothing in my home worth stealing and have not broken any laws (unless ICE now considers me exercising my First Amendment rights as a citizen to be a crime against the state).

The regime threatening to use the National Guard and other branches of the military is one more step in reinforcing fascist policies that violate the Constitution and laws of our country. This is what happens when a large percentage of people are ignorant of their history and are not involved enough to practice the rights and responsibilities of being citizens in a democracy. We are where we are because people are more focused on materialism, celebrity culture and the outcome of sports events than they are on the lawful, democratic governance of their local school boards, town/city councils, state/ federal legislatures.

The content and implications of Project 2025 were, and are still being ignored. Folks are being distracted with convenient drops of attention getting headlines to gin up drama while hard working lawyers (both pro bono and paid) are working overtime, trying to stop the illegal destruction of our democracy. But lawyers can't do this by themselves.

People will cough up hundreds of dollars for entertainment, but cry poverty over paying for decent federal minimum wage or the healthcare of our veterans, the poor and the disabled. Meanwhile politicians will fund millions to subsidize corporations like airlines but not to have enough funds for safe drinking water or clean air.

The shooting will lead the news when it happens. After all, "if it bleeds, it leads" is still a profitable mantra in the news industry. But a bunch of dead protesters will mean nothing beyond a 24-72hr new cycle headline. Then people will go back to their binge-watching, binge-buying, over-tariffed lives while evil people tear down democracy and decency.

Unless more people start to give a damn about who they nominate, elect / appoint as leaders to the various branches of government to local, state and federal executive, legislative and judicial offices, then protesters and many, many, more people will get hurt and killed by this regime. It's going to happen, sooner than later unless citizens get more involved in keeping democracy alive in our country.

I consider it very brave of you to come right out and say the unspeakable: this is what he would be happy to see—whether or not he is conscious of making multiple references to the death of others, which is possible. Perhaps he lives on a level of childish representation of what death actually is, a superficial notion of being rid of something without the capacity to grasp the depth or the tragedy.

For myself, there is a fear of being labeled as problematic, and suffering the consequences, even though they wouldn’t amount to rendition to a foreign dungeon. So as said, I salute your courage.

That would be the "trifecta" for him made me laugh. What Trump really needs is to drop a nuclear bomb on LA, and maybe Sacramento too, where Governor "Newscum" resides. That will get rid of a lot of scum, don't you think? How much lower can this madman get; I guess the basement is infinite.

trump did not care about law enforcement officers when he ordered the insurrection on January 6, 2021; nor did he care if his merry band of terrorists succeeded in hanging Pence, killing Pelosi, or even caused the deaths of all the Democrats in the Capitol.

By the way he treated President Zelenskyy during his visit, it meant nothing to him if the Ukrainian people were killed by putin and the Russian forces, with assistance from North Korea.

So it does not bother him if Los Angelenos are killed by the troops, ICE agents, or the Marines if they are called up. As perhaps the city with the greatest immigrant population, trump would be pleased if death and destruction reigns supreme in the area.

If you want someone shot, you shoot them yourself. Alone. Otherwise, one hasn’t earned the death. One is just another bystander. It is the hallmark of utter cowardice. Something we have in our so-called “leader”, taco-man. He may carry a title, “President”, but he is the same nasty, stupid little boy he’s always been.
