Your "loose" definition of "Klan" would include much of MAGA.

It would include all off MAGA, why would I leave any of them out?

When I lived in a red state with a church on almost every corner, you could drive by them on any Sunday in 2016 & see more cars than not have various Klan decals &/or Trump decals on them. They have no clue what love thy neighbor means.

Yes, there is a culture of Racism, specifically anti-Black racism in police forces around the US. Variations exist. It's worse in some places, better in others. I have heard from a family member who is a cop, that some recruits from outside the state have had to be told to tone it down or turn it off on some of the more egregious, work-affecting Racism they brought with them and assumed was the (unwritten) Law Of The Land.

Yes, a great many people in positions of authority hold Racist Views. Stay Aware. Stay Safe. I don't think you can be too careful. And don't believe for a second our "Policing Forces" are benign, and that all the members are inclined to provide equal protection under the law. They're people. All kinds. But there is definitely a culture of Racism in a lot of police forces. Friend in Georgia is writing about the establishment of the official police forces coming out of the Southern Slave Patrols. It truly is a known thing. Culture. It spreads and contracts. It pulls in what it needs and shuts down access by cleansing agents or opposition. For far too many police departments across the country, the original sin of Slave Patrols is literally only a generation ago, if that.
