70 million people voted for Trump. So even if the growing rabble about voter fraud is true, it shouldn't have come to a few thousand votes. Something is seriously wrong with this country.

I realize that has been so for a very long time, but I thought a little more growth would have occurred by now. The Obama backlash caught me by surprise. The refusal to vote for a woman a little darker than a Pantone 11-0105 white did, too. This happened among *young white male voters.* We are going backwards in many ways. One foot forward, one and a half back.

Civil War? Probably not. Too hard to create geographical demarcations. Race war? If so, I'm sure as hell joining the side of POC, if only to knock the heads of some of those idiotic Joe Rogan Experience bros. Civil unrest? Almost a certainty if the midterms go south and he isn't impeached, which seems unlikely but you never know. It's been a weird few years.

I even got pushback from people in my echo chamber on an excerpt I posted here today of an alternative history novel I wrote about slavery ending in the late 1700s (still unreleased). White Americans are incapable of reviewing history through the lens of Black people. It drives me crazy. I can only imagine how it makes Black folks feel, no matter how accustomed to it they may be.

If there's a slave war, I'm on your side. Life isn't so important to me that I'm not willing to choose the right side. If I die, I die. My words will remain.
