Now we have not reached his conclusion (“extermination of the one or the other”) But the deep rooted prejudices have proved resistant to the moral power of civil rights ideology, which also has a history almost two centuries old. You can accept colorblindness as a principle and find another expression for the feeling. In a sense, you can have racism, or all the things this word was coined to name, without ever referencing race. It’s a dilemma no philosopher or scientist has given us tools to address

I was couching all of this as the category of gaslighting, but that would mean the lies were for those being harmed.
