It Isn’t You, It’s Me
I knew I was in trouble when I started getting multiple emails daily on the account linked to Twitter and my website. The people who take the trouble to find my email account, rather than simply responding to my stories where they read them, usually want to get something negative off their chests. I was simultaneously getting over 100 daily notifications from Twitter and a similar number of responses on Medium, where I write most of my stories. All this feedback came from a story I wrote asking, “Where Are the Black People in Shogun?” The 10-episode miniseries is currently streaming on FX and several other channels.
